Why 2FA (Two-factor Authentication)?

  • Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a security enhancement that requires users to provide additional authorization (after the password login) before performing transactions within your Cleva account.

  • This feature is available on both mobile and web platforms, ensuring consistent security across all user interfaces.

  • It helps prevent unauthorized access to your financial information, personal details, and any sensitive data on your Cleva account.

  • Knowing your account has strong security gives you more confidence when using the app to save, send, or receive money.

How do transactions now work with 2FA?

At Cleva, your account security is very important to us. To help protect your funds and personal information, we use an extra layer of protection called 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) whenever you're completing any of the following transactions:

  • Withdrawing funds to your NGN local bank account

  • Sending money to another Cleva user (C2C)

  • Funding your Cleva USD card

  • and other sensitive transactions within the app

You’ll be prompted to enter your authenticator code at the final stage of the transaction.

This one-time code is generated by your authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator or Authy) and ensures that only you can approve the action.
