Frequently Asked Questions

If my payment is a business or freelance payment, could it still be flagged?

Yes. Deposits received on Cleva are reviewed to manage risk. We may flag a payment and need to reach out to you for more information. In this rare case, you'll receive an email, and you can provide context on the payment to aid the review process.

  1. What is the limit for transfers from my Cleva account to my Nigerian account?
Your transfer limit depends on your Account Tier. Kindly find your limits within your app when you log in and go to Settings > Transaction Limit.

  2. Why could my payment be rejected?
There are a number of reasons payments could be rejected by our bank partner. For instance,

    • Payment details provided on the receipt are different from information on your account, e.g., name, account number, etc.

    • The sender of the funds recalled the transaction as unauthorized.

    • The deposit is above the accepted limit.

    • Lack of clarity as to the relationship between the sender and the beneficiary.

  3. If you feel that the payment was unjustly rejected, please feel free to reach out to us for a review.

Note: We kindly ask that you follow our policy on deposit limits in order to avoid deposit issues. If you ever have a question about receiving large deposits, feel free to reach out to us via in-app chat or email, and we'd be glad to provide answers and the relevant support needed.
